Self-awareness and self-image are two of my favorite topics to write about, but I haven’t written about questions to ask yourself to increase self-awareness and help to identify yourself. So I thought i’d do that in this post.
Let’s start with…
Your self-image is what you believe about yourself. Without a doubt, you need a deep appreciation for your unique qualities and characteristics to successfully identify yourself.
Good news! I have plenty of experience and questions to share with you. For starters, I struggled with my self-image growing up, and now teach my clients how to build a confident self-image by raising their self-awareness.
But, before you jump in and start answering the self-awareness questions, take a moment to learn about all the components that will build your self-image.
Self-knowledge is precisely that, awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and actions and how they affect you and those around you. As well as sophisticated erudition of your capabilities and trust in your judgment.
Studies show there is a direct correlation between self-awareness and mental and physical health. People with a higher level of self-awareness enjoy a better quality of life.
So listen up!!
If you are serious about increasing your self-awareness and uncovering your true self, then it starts with self-care.
Self Care is about participating in any action or activity that contributes to your overall wellbeing.
Activities to consider:
Exercise is any variety of body movement that consumes energy. Sports, running, and any high impact exercises such as weight training and jumping rope are excellent for cardiovascular and self-discovery. Likewise, household chores are also considered physical activity if it lasts for longer than thirty minutes.
Who said you have to go to a gym to exercise!
Physical activity offers invaluable knowledge about yourself and what you’re capable of achieving, but if you’re bored of the gym and looking for something different, read my post A Badass Way Of Stepping Outside of Your Comfort Zone to Get Unstuck.
Hence, working with a professional life coach or someone that can ask you questions about self-awareness can be an enlightening and rewarding process. It can lead you to a deeper understanding of your personality.
Actually, every day is an opportunity to learn new things about yourself, your qualities, and characteristics. As we are continually growing and evolving after every experience. So it’s necessary to stop to take a moment to ask yourself awareness questions, regularly!
Does your life have a sense of purpose and meaning?
Do you take time to breathe and to reconnect with your soul?
How deeply am I connected with my heart?
Spirituality is whatever you choose it to be.
Spirituality, for some people, is going to a place of worship. For others, it’s finding a quiet spot at home to meditate. And for an even smaller group of people, which you are part of, it’s digging deep into your soul when answering self-awareness questions.
Spirituality is whatever works for you, and its whatever gives you space to reconnect with your core to ask those deep, profound questions to help you identify yourself.
Relationships and interactions that help you personally and professionally.
A good support system can make a world of a difference. Besides feeling supported, when you know you have a life coach, a friend, or a family member in your corner you are more likely to take bigger chances and you won’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. So don’t go it alone, reach out and talk to somebody today!
To sum it up, self-discovery requires time, effort, and commitment. The questions posted here are just the tip of the iceberg. If you want to learn to identify yourself with confidence, you need to stop, make space for yourself, and start uncovering the qualities and characteristics that define your unique self. And never forget, you don’t have to figure it out alone, there are trained experts that can help you.
