Mistakes – Can Success Be Achieved Without Them?

The other day I watched a program on television that was extremely motivating. I can’t remember the name of it but it was about a lady who came from nothing but created everything. A true rags to riches story. What made it inspirational was that she decided to take life by the horns to create the lifestyle she dreamed. She said, “I’m not going to sit waiting for something to land on my lap while life passes me by.”

When Inspiration Knocks

The past several weeks have been incredible. I have learned a whole bunch of new skills, met some really incredible people, all of who share a common interest – To help one another to live a life of purpose and passion. All walks of life from around the world are doing it. How incredible is that?

I am inspired by what I see. When inspiration knock’s you don’t wait for the next one, you open the door and see what lies on the other side. Sometimes you find nothing but sometimes you find more than you ever imagined you could find. What I found on the other side was a vehicle to communicate and share my message with likeminded people, and with men and women from around the world who can benefit from my process: Challenge Your Beliefs. Take Back Control. Break Down The Box. That’s what I share in my new book plus my own personal experiences, which led to the development of my 10-Week Self-Awareness Program also known as U-Turn.

Make It Happen!

Growing up I had to fend for myself. I became independent at a young age, before my teens. I had to make things happen for me or else I would have nothing. My folks were immigrants. They worked hard and saved everything they earned so they could buy a home and provide for their children. They were frugal to say the least. Back to school shopping, which included supplies and clothing for two, would not amount to nothing greater than twenty dollars. It was embarrassing going to school on the first day in September after Labor Day. Everyone dressed in cool designer stuff like Roots, Beaver Canoe and tennis shoes. That was the style back then in the mid 80’s, but not for me it wasn’t. I’d wear cotton pants that didn’t fit, “floods” we’d call them because they’d end at the ankles and awful shirts. Mom bought everything on sale $.99 from a discount store.

All I wanted more than anything was to fit in and feel like the rest of the kids. And it didn’t take long finding a way to do it. I knew money bought you things, and that really nice things cost more. So I figured my folks weren’t earning a lot of money because we didn’t have really nice things. Heck, we didn’t even own a Christmas tree because they couldn’t afford one. I knew there was no way they could afford to buy me what I wanted so I sold things to earn money instead. I became a little entrepreneur. I sold anything I got my hands on like video games, antiques and clothing. I had garage sales and sold things to neighbors. Total sales for a Saturday were approximately $15. It was just enough to buy a shirt a cool, preppy one. But it wasn’t enough I wanted more.

My first job was at McDonalds at age 12. We didn’t have the technology we have today so I did something that I don’t recommend anyone do. I forged my birth certificate. I made it appear as if I were 15 years old, the legal age to work in Canada. Within 3 weeks of starting at McDonalds I received my first paycheck. I earned just over a hundred dollars. It was just enough to buy a pair of pants, a shirt and tennis shoes. I was so thrilled because I could finally look and feel just like everyone else.

By age 14 I working at theme park earning over three hundred dollars weekly. Not bad for a young kid. And from then on earning money and surviving hasn’t been an issue. Whether I needed to find a new job or whether I needed to survive while establishing myself as a Master Life Coach, entrepreneurship is in my blood forever. It’s a skill I learned thanks to my frugal parents. And for that I am forever grateful.

It’s a Brand New Year

Are you excited about it? What are you working towards? What goal did you set for yourself?

At the end of every year I review my accomplishments. I look over the list of goals I set for myself from the year past before setting new ones. I also check a few times throughout the year to see how I am tracking. I accomplished most of what I set off to do last year and gained a lot of experience from it. But I am also taking some of the goals with me into this upcoming year because some need more time. I didn’t anticipate some of the challenges. Plus I need to really refine what I have.

Last year I made a mistake. I was very ambitious with goals. I wanted to bite more than I could chew. Set 1 goal only and accomplish it first before moving onto another one. Or you run the risk of feeling overwhelmed and not accomplishing anything. Keep it simple. Stick to 1 maybe 2 goals. Be specific and create a measurement to track your progress. And make sure you are passionate about it. This year I’m keeping it simple and only adding 1 goal to the list. The rest are goals I need to improve and master first before setting new ones.

1. Finish book (March 2011)
2. Launch workshop (February 27th)
3. Docu-Series – television show (Sept. 2011)
4. Charity (Feb 2011)

And don’t forget to celebrate your successes.

Thank you Bruno, You’ve changed my life

"If I had to sum up my experience with Bruno in one word, it would be “awakened.” Bruno helped me see life from a different perspective which is what I needed, but most importantly showed me how to do that myself without being dependant on him. He got me to let go of old patterns of behaviour and got me from being stuck in the past, to fully present in the future. I got a new look and a new attitude, and established some new behaviours like working out on a regular basis that have totally enhanced all areas of my life and made me feel more connected to life than ever before. I used to feel detached from life and would watch it pass me by, but now I’m fully engaged and loving every moment of being alive. Most importantly, Bruno got me to step outside of my comfort zone and do things I normally wouldn’t have done otherwise, which is undoubtedly the key to growth. I learned that attitude is a choice, and your thoughts determine what manifests in your life. I realize now that the reason I was stuck in a rut in the past for so long is because of what I was focusing on. I was focusing on what wasn’t working instead of what I needed to do to make things work. It’s the law of attraction, and that’s what brought me to Bruno in the first place.

When the student is ready, the teacher appears. I wanted to change, and needed that little extra push, motivation, and inspiration. My confidence has improved dramatically because I no longer hold myself back from doing the things I truly want to do. I don’t second guess or doubt myself or fear being judged by other people anymore because it’s my birthright to be happy and when you come to the end of your life you can either look back upon it with regret and say “I wish I would have, I wish I could have, I wish I should have” or you can say “I did it all, thank you and goodnight.” I now set goals on a regular basis and with each one I conquer I set my sights on bigger and better things. One of the most important things I took from Bruno was to dream big, because the only limitations are the ones you create. Bruno truly loves what he does and his caring and sincerity was evident from the first moment I met him. He’s the type of person I’ve always wanted to surround myself with. I look forward to continued mentorship even after the 12 week program is complete. If you’re reading this testimonial and considering changing your life, do yourself the favour and don’t put it off any longer. You can’t put a price on happiness. My overall well-being is in the best place it’s ever been, and it only continues to reach new peaks daily. Thank you Bruno, you’ve changed my life."

A blue Day – Self Coaching

I need a venue to speak aloud at. I feel a bit shaken today. After many weeks and months of feeling on top of my game working towards my goals and accomplishing quite a bit – I am feeling blue. I don’t know anyone who can stay on top of his or her game for 365 days without coming down to check on the valley from time-to-time.

Coming down and spending a day in the valley isn’t such a bad thing. Typically I let myself go through it. I don’t try to talk myself into being stronger or busying myself with useless tasks. I allow whatever I am feeling go through its process without my interference. But when I am down for two days it means I need to take a look at what is happening in my life and reevaluate it.

Having the ability to probe into your life and to identify what is bothering you and putting it in its compartment will ensure it doesn’t spill over into other aspect of your life. Its a form of self life coaching. You take the appropriate measure to address the issue and move on without causing a disturbance. It isn’t as much fun as it is to create a big to do about nothing, which typically is what we do.

Now that I have the root cause in view, I could see why I feel blue. At least now I have a smile on my face. I want to be upset but I know I can’t because I remember making a consciously choice to my current day situation. I knew then that this day might arrive. I did plan to avoid this day but it hasn’t happened yet – but it will and hopefully soon.

I needed to see it with my own two eyes – not just in my minds eye.

The power to influence the course of events

What do you think it would be like to be able to influence the course of events – The power to change something and to create a desired outcome? What could you do with this power if you knew you had it? What if you possess this power already but haven’t been shown how to use it? Would you want to know how to use it to improve the quality of your life?

Imagine for a moment what your life would be like if you had the power to alter the path you’re on this very moment. Imagine possessing a force so powerful that it pushes through any barrier, which might prevent you from choosing another path. The energy to leap and to jump over any hurdle in your way, and the courage you long to take the step that you know that you must.

Take a moment and imagine living in a fantasy world. Here you can wish for anything. Create a vision and fulfill it with delight – look around you for inspiration. It is everywhere and could be anything you care for it to be – It can be a world far from reality. It is a world fulfilled with whatever life the imagination can dream. When you’re ready and have a vision close your eyes and hold on to it real tight.

What does it look like; how does it feel? What kind of world did you imagine could come real? Did you get excited at the idea? Did you believe for a moment that it could be real? Hold on to that feeling and make it be real.

You already have the power to influence the course of events. All that you must do is take a conscious decision and say that you will. Everything you will need to know will be known when you need to know it so try not to think ahead. Now all that is left is for you to take the step that you know that you must.

Go on, what are you waiting for?
